About ConsolidateRate
Our mission is to make debt consolidation choices easier to compare—with the costs, trade-offs and risks visible alongside potential savings.
What we compare
ConsolidateRate is an educational comparison resource, not a lender or debt settlement service. We bring together personal loans, balance transfers, home equity options and nonprofit credit counseling. No single path is right for everyone, and a smaller monthly payment does not necessarily mean a lower total cost.
Our comparison framework
- Cost: APR, origination or transfer fees, repayment term and the rate after any promotional period.
- Eligibility: indicative credit requirements, debt amount and collateral requirements. Filters are not approval decisions.
- Risk: variable rates, longer repayment, account closures and the consequences of securing debt against a home.
- Fit: editorial labels highlight a potential use case, not an independently verified award or a recommendation tailored to you.
What the current figures mean
Provider rates, fees and credit cutoffs currently shown are illustrative, representative figures—not verified live offers. We do not claim that every available provider is included or that offers have been independently tested. Confirm current terms with the provider before applying.
The simulator models minimum payments and a fixed-rate consolidated loan. Its consolidated estimate excludes origination fees. It does not predict approval, your actual APR or your future credit score. See the full methodology and disclosures.
Sources and editorial transparency
Our homepage answers link to consumer guidance from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Educational guidance is separate from a provider’s offer. Editorial labels are not a guarantee of savings, funding speed or eligibility.
